We are excited to announce that campsites for the Whittlesea MEGA in November are now available to book online via the Geocaching Victoria Website (Click here). There are both powered and unpowered sites available, as well as a small number of sites that allow an extended stay beyond the MEGA weekend. Powered and extended stay sites are limited, so please only select these if needed.
There are 4 campgrounds to choose from which have been named with an agricultural theme. The best campground for your needs will depend on your length of stay and camping requirements. All campgrounds are walking distance from each other and the main event locations for the weekend. Further campsite details are below.
Choosing Your Campsite
- There are a reduced number of powered sites available this year so we would ask that you only book a powered site when needed.
- The average site is approximately 8m x 9m. Whilst the entire map is not to scale, the individual campsites are to scale (accuracy 1m). Some sites are larger/longer, with a handful of narrower sites as marked on the map. Please feel free to contact us at email@example.com if you have specific space requirements.
- If towing, please take into consideration your setup and how to access your site before making your selection. Some sites are better suited to towed accommodation than others.
- Powered sites consist of 1x 15amp socket unless otherwise specified (there are a small number of 10amp sites marked on the map – these are available by email request only – firstname.lastname@example.org). A minimum 25m extension lead is required in order to ensure access to power. Power cable placement is marked on the map – Power cables should not be driven over at any time.

Speed Limit: There is a strict 10km/h speed limit throughout the entire showgrounds. Pedestrians will be moving throughout the showgrounds at all times so please be aware of your surroundings at all times.
Parking: Cars are to be parked within your designated site – There is limited parking at the main pavilion, and no direct vehicle access between the campground and the western side of the creek, so campers are asked to leave their vehicles on their campsite whilst attending activities at the showgrounds.
Toilets: Toilets are provided throughout the campground and are indicated on the campground map.
Showers: Showers are marked on the map and will open from 5pm on Friday and will remain open between the hours of 6am and 10pm daily. Showers will close at midday on Sunday and will reopen between 5pm – 7pm for those staying on Sunday night. Due to the Whittlesea Monday Market there will be no shower facilities available on Monday morning.
Water: Available near the amenities and at selected locations throughout the grounds. No direct water connection is available.
Waste: Please use the bins provided around the campground and leave your campsite clean.
Other: There are no fires or solid fuel BBQs allowed in the campground (Gas BBQs/stoves are permitted). No generators are allowed in the campgrounds.
Behaviour/Noise: In the interests of everyone enjoying the event, please keep within your allocated site, and keep noise to a minimum in the evening and early morning. Music is to be turned off after 10pm and we ask that you lower your voices so that others can rest. Campers found creating a nuisance or behaving in an inappropriate manner may be warned, or if necessary asked to leave the campground.
Pets: Pets are welcome at the MEGA, however they must be well behaved and on a short lead at all times. Pets are not allowed in food areas, or buildings/pavilions unless they are registered assistance dogs (including service, guide and hearing dogs). As there will be large crowds and noise at times, this may make your pet anxious, so keep an eye out for their wellbeing also.
Security: The security of your campsite and your belongings remains your responsibility at all times. It is recommended you keep valuables locked away at all times as you normally would in any other public environment.
Extended camping beyond Monday 21 November
Those staying in the Pig Pen and Sheep Pasture campgrounds may be able to extend their stay beyond Monday 21 November by arrangement directly with the Whittlesea Showgrounds Committee. The Showgrounds Committee will visit campers on Monday to agree the extended stay and collect payment. Direct fees are expected similar to those above (please have cash available). Whilst toilet facilities will be available, shower facilities will not be accessible for the extended stay. Alternative showers may be able to be accessed at the local swimming centre near the showgrounds by paying to access their facilities.
