What is a GPS Adventure Maze?

A GPS Adventure Maze is a special type of geocaching event that can only appear alongside specially selected Geocaching MEGA and GIGA Events.  

What is in a GPS Adventure Maze?

Upon entering a GPS Adventure Maze you will find all manner of information and interesting displays all relating to GPS use and Geocaching.  You can move from room to room through the maze and explore all the different topics as you go.  Each room also has a special LAB cache for you to discover and claim.

Where is the GPS Adventure Maze?

The inaugural event that the GPS Adventure Maze (GC9C72H) attended was at the Wangaratta MEGA Event on the weekend of the 13th and 14th of November, 2021. 

Its second appearance was CacheQLD – Townsville (GC9BVWD) on the 15th – 17th April 2022.

At Whittlesea the maze appeared for the third time – Whittlesea (GC9N1CX) on the 18th – 20th November 2022

When is the next GPS Adventure Maze Scheduled?

It will make its forth debut at the Rutherglen Mega Event (GC9MH9M) over the weekend of 6-10th April 2023 (GC9V3RY)

Can I claim a “smilie” on a GPS Adventure maze?

Absolutely you can.  Once you have exited the maze you will be able to sign the log book and claim the “smilie”.  In fact, doing so gives you the VERY rare GPS Adventure Maze icon, previously not available outside of Europe and America.

How much does it cost to enter the maze?

The maze is absolutely, totally and utterly free to enter.  However, only a certain number of people will be allowed into the maze at a time, so it is expected that there will be queues to enter the maze.

Can Muggles enter the maze?

Absolutely, when the maze is open, it is available to the general public so everyone is welcome.

What if I can’t find my way out of the maze?

We have a bunch of friendly volunteers on stand-by to help you work your way out of the maze.  If you would like to be one of our amazing volunteers, don’t forget to register your interest with the Wangaratta Event Volunteers, when the time comes.
