If you are thinking of coming to The Parkville Event, 2018, but you had some questions, then below are some common questions that we get asked about our MEGAs that we have answered for you. If your question isn’t answered below then feel free to use the link at the bottom of this page to message us your question and we will endeavour to get back to you promptly with an answer.
Where is the event being held?
The event is being held at The Urban Camp in Parkville, 10 Brens Dr, Parkville VIC, Australia, 3052
Is this a free event?
Yes, absolutely. There is no charge for attending this event at all.
How do I register that I will be attending
The only thing you need to do to register that you are going to be attending is to log a “Will Attend” on the event listing, which can be found by clicking here.
Is there parking available?
At the event location, no there is not, but 200 metres up the road at the State Netball and Hockey centre there is ample free parking. However as the event is so close to public transport we are encouraging as many people as possible to use public transport to access this event.
There is paid parking available at the zoo for $2 for 5 hours.
Is there provision for disabled parking?
Unfortunately at this location there is not. If you are ferrying someone who is unable to walk the 200m from the car park, we ask that you drop them off at the front before continuing on to the car park.
What public transport options do I have?
Train – On the Upfield train line the train station of Flemington Bridge is about 500m away from the event. On the same line, the next station along, Royal Park is about 750m away from the event.
Tram – On the 58 tram line coming out of the city, the Elliot Ave/Royal Park stop and the next stop along, the State Netball/Hockey Centre stop are both about 400 meters from the event.
How do I get there from the airport?
Probably the best way is to catch one of the many buses that leave the airport into the city CBD. You will need a myki card to access the public transport but the number 58 tram runs along William Street and stops at the State Netball/Hockey centre which is less than 400m away from The Parkville Event
Will there be food and drinks available on site?
Yes there will be food and drink available for purchase on site.
Do I need to come for the whole weekend?
No, you can come for just one day, just for an hour or you can just drop in for a minute and sign the log book and head off.
What things are there to do?

Are there any caches nearby that we can find?
The nearest one is about 40 meters away from the MEGA location. But there are currently 809 geocaches listed within 12 kilometres of GZ. It is one of the most geocache dense areas of Australia so you will be a bit spoiled for choice.
What are the “must do” caches in the area?
Well that probably depends on your caching style, but there really is something for everyone nearby. In fact we have dedicated a whole page of this website to show case the really cool caches that are located nearby. Check that out by clicking here.
Is there accommodation at the MEGA event?
There is, but it is very limited accommodation, so if you want to stay at GZ you had better get in quick. You can click here to follow a link to purchase accommodation.
