The Wangaratta Event – Accommodation

Overall 1There are two areas for camping accommodation at the Wangaratta Event.  The Rodeo Ground and along the Ovens River.  Both areas are close to all the action that will be happening over the weekend and both areas offer powered and unpowered sites.  There  are water taps dispersed amongst these camping spots, but not enough for one tap per site, so a method to carry water back to your camp will be required.  Most powered sites will require at least a 25m extension lead to run power from the nearest power box.

Cost and Availability:

  • Powered sites:
    • $60 per site
    • includes Friday and Saturday nights
  • Unpowered sites:
    • $30 per site
    • includes Friday and Saturday nights

  • Water: available nearby, but not dedicated to each site.
  • Each site will be clearly marked: with room for, at least, one caravan and one car only.

Pets will not be allowed in the food areas, unless they carry a registration, such as a guide dog. A copy of this registration needs to be provided to Geocaching Victoria prior to the event for our insurance files. Be aware of the often large crowds and noise involved in such a large event, that can make your pet anxious.
  • Behaviour: Please be mindful of your neighbours with regards to your use of the space and noise. If anyone is found to be behaving in a way that is impinging upon any/everyone else staying over, the committee will become involved. Depending upon the level and type of behaviour, this may involve anything from a warning to expulsion from the Showgrounds.
  • Litter: Please use the bins provided around the showgrounds and keep the area clean.

Please direct all feedback to committee members
