Another fortnight has past and it is time for another MEGA announcement!
You would think with all the amazing things that we have announced that will be happening during the MEGA weekend already that there would hardly be time for anything else!
Well Australians always have time for a BBQ!
Check out the links below or have a read through of all the cool things the organizing committee have been working on during the last fortnight!
BBQ, Music and Fireworks, GC63717 in Tooradin.
Of course we are super-excited about this one. Imagine it!
- Free entry,
- Free food,
- Free music
- Free fireworks!
That’s right! Once it is published (hopefully soon), you will be able to log your “Will Attend” on GC63717. In the coming weeks we will let everyone who has logged their “Will Attend” know about the location of a cache full of wrist bands. On the evening of the event, head towards this cache and grab yourself a wrist band. Then head over to the event. Music will be playing, the fireworks will be going off and providing you’re wearing your wrist band, you’ll even get some delicious BBQ food supplied by the one and only Anvil Angus and cooked to your satisfaction by Scouts Victoria. Who could possibly want more?
Drinks will be available for purchase from the scouts, or you can bring along your own (non-alcoholic).
Coins and Pathtags.
Yes, we still have a few geocoins left and a very small amount of pathtags left for pre-sale on our pre-sale page. Also, we have split up the limited edition set of Lemon, Lime and Cherry coins and they are now available separately for pre-sale at $40 each, or still in a set of three for only $99. These coins can be picked up at the event, or for a small postage fee, we can send them to you once we have them.
Official The Melbourne Event merchandise
A range of official Melbourne Event 2015 merchandise is available from our sponsor Geostuff.com.au. The Official Polo shirts, with lovely Fern embroidery on the chest, are available in a good range Men’s, Women’s and Kid’s sizes. Also expect to see official embroidered Caps and Beanies soon ! The Polo shirts, and other official merchandise will be available from the Geostuff stall at the event, although they are also available right now online at Geostuff.com.au for you to reserve and pick up at the event, pickup at the Geostuff retail store, or have delivered directly to you before hand if you choose.
GSAK and Wherigo sessions
For those who are going to the GSAK and Wherigo builder sessions, to get the most out of these sessions, it is recommended that you take along a laptop or portable IT device. These will be demonstration sessions where you will be encouraged to explore GSAK or actually build and test a wherigo within the session. It should also be noted that power supply opportunities within the session rooms is very limited so to have your device fully charged at the beginning would be advantageous.
Show Bag Registration
Well of COURSE it is going to be popular! You’re getting stuff for free!
Unfortunately though we can only supply these to those who have registered a “Will Attend” before the 26th of September and registered with our eventbrite page.
Why the 26th of Spetember cut off? Well we had to draw a line in the sand somewhere because there is only a finite amount of these bags and we knew if we didn’t there would be a rush of people logging their “Will Attend” just to get the free show bag. So the 26th of September was the selected date. We know that unfortunately many well-intentioned people got caught out by this as they are waiting to confirm their availability or they had thought they had logged their “Will Attend”, which is unfortunate, but as we said, we had to draw a line in the sand somewhere.
The good news though is that there is still some show-bags left for those who have logged their “Will Attend” before the 26th of September. If you want a bag full of free stuff then register yourself on our eventbrite page.
As always, we’d like to thank our awesome sponsors, who have helped us put this whole thing together.
There are two CITOs running over the weekend of the MEGA event. The Casey Council has been fantastic in helping us put this event on and so we would like to thank them in the best way we know how. Cleaning up some rubbish! You can join in the fun and get your hands dirty on either day.
