The Sunbury Event

Geocaching Victoria is thrilled to mark 25 years of geocaching by hosting Victoria’s first ever Block Party, set to take place in Sunbury on the north western fringe of metropolitan Melbourne. The Sunbury Event (GCAP417) will be on March 22nd – 23rd, 2025 and promises to be a celebration of all things geocaching. Anticipate lead up activities, side events, and plenty to see and do during the weekend. Ensure it finds a place in your calendar by logging your will attend now! Only 5,064 geocachers worldwide have found this rare cache type, so don’t miss this unique local opportunity to add it to your own find list!

The event will be held at the Hume Global Learning Centre in Sunbury, a state of the art facility boasting a $21m investment and a mere four years old. Conveniently located within close proximity of Melbourne Airport, it offers easy access via a short stroll from both trains and buses servicing the airport, Melbourne CBD and regional Victorian locations. In addition it has ample free onsite parking.

By Air – Melbourne Airport is a convenient 20 minute drive from the heart of Sunbury, accessible via mostly 80-100km/h roads. Additionally, bus transfers are available from the airport to Sunbury.

By Public Transport – Sunbury station, located less than a kilometre from the event venue, serves as a public transport hub for both the Melbourne Metro train service which caters to the north western suburbs departing from Melbourne CBD, and the regional VLine train service, connecting Echuca, Bendigo and other regional destinations to Melbourne CBD via Sunbury. Bus services are also accessible from the airport and various other locations.

By Car – Sunbury is located just off the Calder Freeway, offering easy access to metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. Ample free onsite car parking is available at the Hume Global Learning Centre.
