Mega Milestone 2018

Many of you last year had some fun making The Alexandra Event a milestone, so we are doing it again. To register your interest, please just fill out the below form and then attend The Saturday night BBQ Event(GC7QBMC) and of course The Parkville Event (GC75D90) to claim your prize.

The definition of a milestone for the Parkville Event:

A Milestone is a number of finds ending in:
0 for 2 digit numbers – i.e. 10, 20, 30 etc
00 for 3 digit numbers – i.e. 100, 200, 300 etc
000 for 4 digit numbers – i.e. 1000, 2000, 3000 etc
Of course we also have 10,000, 11,000 etc

Cutoff will be approximately 8pm on Tuesday 13th November

Bike Hire for the Parkville Event

There is no doubt that if you are attending The Parkville Event, 2018 in November then the best way to get around caching in the inner city is either public transport or by bike.  The bike trails that spread out from GZ travel all over the city and we have made sure there are PLENTY of geocaches along them for you to find.

But what if you don’t have a bike? Or if its too hard to get your bike to the event?  Well, we have the answer.  Geocaching Victoria have teamed up with Freddy’s Bike Tours, who hire out a large range of bikes, including e-bikes.  What does this mean?  Well, on the weekend of the MEGA you can hire City Cruisers, Mountain Bikes and E bikes for a full day and only pay the half day price.  Plus, you will be able to pick up and drop off your bike at the Freddy’s Bike Tour pop up stall on location at the Parkville Event, 2018.

Pre-bookings for this great deal are essential as there is obviously a limited number of bikes available.  You can follow this link to pre-book your bicycle for The Parkville Event 2018.  Just use the discount code Geo5off

Volunteers for The Parkville Event

Hi folks, it’s getting to the pointy end with less than three months to go until the Parkville Event.  The organizing committee have been working feverishly behind the scenes to get everything working, but we need your help!  All those who have already volunteered should have received an introductory email this afternoon as we are starting to schedule some tasks to the volunteers.  Please respond to this email as soon as you can.  If you have volunteered but not received an email, please let us know as it’s not that we don’t love you, we just haven’t got your contact details correct.  If you haven’t volunteered yet, it’s not too late.  You can follow this link to fill out our volunteer form and remember we aren’t looking for volunteers for the whole weekend, just a few hours and the more volunteers we can get the easier it is for everyone.

Thankyou from the Parkville Event Organizing Committee.

Geocaching Victoria and Geostuff.

2018_mens_shirt_design_1024x1024Geocaching Victoria would like to announce that Geostuff, who were one of the major sponsors for the Parkville MEGA event, are now no longer a sponsor of the event.  We would like to make it clear that this is not a result of any issues between Geocaching Victoria and the new owners of Geostuff.  Geocaching Victoria and Geostuff both look forward to having a happy relationship through promoting the hobby of geocaching in the years to come.  However, as the new owners of the Geostuff business have only just taken over control they have decided that they needed to get a better feel for the business before committing to such a large financial decision.  Geocaching Victoria 100% supports them in this decision.

As a result, the official Parkville Event T-shirts are now no longer available to order through the geostuff website.  Instead they can now be ordered directly through the Geocaching Victoria webstore by following this link.

All existing orders that have already been placed with geostuff for the Parkville Event t-shirts will still be fulfilled by Geocaching Victoria and these t-shirts will still be available for pick up at the event, or will be posted out as specified, when stock arrives.  Geocaching Victoria will be using the same manufacturer to supply these t-shirts as geostuff have historically done for previous event t-shirts.

Sponsors: It is at this point that we would like to thank all of our sponsors who have at some stage and in some way lent us a hand to help put this event on.  Bunnings, The City of Melbourne, McDonalds, pathtags.com, Coca Cola, The Clear Water Event in Queanbeyan and of course our MAJOR sponsors, Cachly and geocaching.com.  As always we would like to acknowledge the valuable contributions that these sponsors make towards helping us put this event on and to keep it absolutely FREE for all those who attend.

Until next time, have a fantastic week.
