Activities update – Track-ables design

Updating you again from our series of posts on some of the activities we have planned for The Melbourne Event in November.
Remember, we are planning a full agenda of activities but none are compulsory and attendance at the activities is not required to claim a find on the event.

On to the update!
Whilst there are plenty of services out there that will design track-ables and trade-ables for you, if you have a pretty good idea of what you want, it isn’t to hard to submit your own and save yourself a few dollars.  This session will cover a few basic free bits of software that can help you get a great outcome for your track-ables and trade-ables.

And the winner is….

The Forest Fairy

Thanks to everyone who went out there and submitted and entry for the naming competition! We really enjoyed going through all of them and are amazed by the effort you put into this, Since we have so many fantastic entries, we have a few prize categories to announce.

Activities update – Canoeing

More great activities news for The Melbourne Event in November.  It’s up to you what to participate in, they are all part of the event, none are compulsory and attendance at the activities is not required to claim a find on the event.

On to the update!
We are working with Canoeing Victoria to put on some ‘Come and Try’ sessions. As boats get cheaper and cheaper and more people want to head out and get wet find boat geocaches, we want to help you do that safely. These session will cost to participate in but all equipment and instruction is provided by Canoeing Victoria, so you know you will be in good hands.

Activities update – c:geo

More great activities news for The Melbourne Event in November. Come to one that is of interest, come to them all, or just head out and find caches.  It’s up to you, but all part of the event.

On to the update!
Geocaching with a smart phone is easier than ever these days, and c:geo is a great app that can make it even easier, once you get your head around it.  We will be running a great session to help you do just that.

Activities update – Navigation

Another in the series of posts on some of the activities we have planned for The Melbourne Event in November.

On to the update!
In the olden days, GPS’s didn’t exist, but still people managed to make their way from point A to point B (often passing through point C) without getting lost.  These mysterious skills still exist and can be mastered.  In fact for people who head into remote areas, we recommend you learn them for those odd times when the batteries go flat on your chosen device.
