The wait is over!!

The Whittlesea Event Organising Committee have gotten your camping options sorted. If you’re planning to bring your caravan, tent or swag, then head on over to our shop to book your camping spot. Camping on site is a great way to catch up with old friends and meet new ones as well as be in on all the action of the Mega!

Powered sites cost only $30 per night! Unpowered sites are $20 per night.

Ready to book? CLICK HERE!

The finer details:

  • There is water available nearby, but not dedicated to each site.
  • You will be required to supply your own power leads, as there will not be any available. There are a mix of 10A and 15A supplies, please specify if you definitely require a 15A supply, otherwise you will get a random allocation.
  • Each site will be clearly marked, with room for one caravan and one car only.

For more information, check the fine print beneath each listing.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us should you need more information.

And don’t forget our next lead up event on Feb 16 in Shepparton! Click here to put in your will attend!

Expressions of Interest – Info Sessions

The Whittlesea Event is getting closer by the day. It’s no longer “next years” event, it’s now THIS year!!

We are looking for expressions of interest for information sessions.

Have you run a session for us in the past, and after the break, you’re ready to do it again?

Are you new to info sessions, but have a burning passion that you would love to share with others?

Is there a particular skill or knowledge you have that you believe would appeal to others, and you’re willing to teach it?

Some suggestions:  GSAK, Puzzles, Whereigo, Adventure Labs, Cachetour.no etc.

Alternatively, if there is a session you really want to attend, send your suggestions through

Emails to president@geocachingvictoria.com.au and include

  • real name and caching name.
  • What session you’d be interested in running.
  • What day/time suits you best.
  • What sort of infrastructure do you need to run your session? Display tables, av equipment etc.

We will get back to you with questions for information.

If we choose your design, you will win a rare Whittlesea Event Unobtanium coin.

The St Arnaud Event – Wrap Up

The dust has settled around St Arnaud and it’s just those last few things that the committee find themselves doing to tie off all those loose ends! What an EVENT! What a Year! Are you ready for 2020?

Receipts Game Winner

Congratulations to muff1 for being the winner of the receipts game. A staggering $20,830.84 was tallied in physical receipts – that’s incredible and certainly helps demonstrate the economic impact geocaching events can have in rural areas!

This can be broken down into:

Petrol: $3866.37;

Accommodation: $7247.00;

Food: $7238.13 (so many coffees);

Other: $2488.21 (pharmacy, books, crafts, clothes, op shops, hardware, camping store)

This excludes receipts we weren’t given (plenty of those), cash sales and money spent in surrounding towns.

Evaluation survey winner

Congratulations to Cliff5009 for being the winner of the evaluation survey. The information gathered here will be used to help plan further Mega events.

#StArnaud2019 Photo Competition Winner

Congrats to GeoTurtle37 for being the winner of the photo competition.
